Natif d’Ottawa,
continents. Au programme: son nouvel album, “High Temperature”.

Friday, December 15 @

By the ages of 18 and 21 they had already performed
alongside Kris Kristofferson, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Jeff Healey and David
Wilcox to name a few.
Between their renowned musical ability, high-energy,
awe-inspiring performances and lessons learned first-hand from rock n’ roll
pioneers, a reputation as the “baddest band in the land”, “heroes of this
generation” and “the future in the big shoes of the past” now precedes them.

NAC Presents
Crystal Shawanda:
Christmas Concert
NAC Azrieli Studio, 1
Elgin Street
Thursday, December 21
@ 8 pm; tickets $36.50
A fabulous Christmas concert from an incredible Canadian
talent. A Juno-winning singer/songwriter whose soulful, rootsy sound has
allowed for a nearly seamless bridging of the traditional country and blues
worlds, Crystal Shawanda’s unique aboriginal cultural background has left her
feeling like an outsider at times. But that search may be at an end, as the
process of creating her latest album, the cathartic, bold and refreshingly
authentic “Fish Out of Water” sees the talented Shawanda not just
coming to terms with her unique place in the industry, but embracing and truly
celebrating it. ‘Fish Out of Water” stands as an example of an artist who has
truly found her voice, and it is a voice that is rich, powerful, charming and
intimately real.

Tipsy Eve IX: Munster
Reunion XMAS Party
Danby’s Bar &
Grill, 2858 Munster Road, Munster Hamlet
Friday, December 22
TIPSY EVE IX – wow, it’s been nine years already! This
year we decided to kick it old school. After 9 years in Kanata at Darcy McGee's
and since our friends who operated it no longer do, we wanted to change up the
venue.
BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN! MUNSTER - Danby's Bar & Grill
We held the party in Kanata each year to accommodate old friends from Richmond, Stittsville, Manotick and Munster... since most wouldn't go downtown we thought best to hold in Kanata, it being more central for everyone. Every year the party has different crowds, but it turns into a reunion of old faces that get together for some Holiday Fun!
So make a call out to all those "FORMER & CURRENT MUNSTERITES" and all our buddies from Richmond, Stittsville and Manotick to come out and show Munster an Old School Party! But this time hopefully we don't get the cop cars chasing us from the party! ;)
Crunchy Flower will play a li’l music then I will invite some other musical peeps you know ... Eric Lackey, Bill St Amand ... and others to be announced.

Irene’s Pub, 885 Bank

Saturday, January 27

Melding
poetry, mystery, darkness and light, along with an extensive knowledge of the
history and traditions of blues music is what makes Paul Reddick on of the most
popular figures on the blues and roots music scene today. For over 25 years
he’s been writing and performing his eclectic brand of blues, bringing the art
form to new frontiers with his rapacious, deep vocals, masterful harmonica
playing and song writing. As the unofficial poet laureate of Canadian blues,
words are his weapon of choice and when he sings, it is near impossible not to
listen and get lost within the songs, right alongside him and illustrating what
the influential British magazine Mojo described as his “wayward brilliance.”

NAC presents
Michael Kaeshammer
NAC Babs Asper
Theatre, 1 Elgin Street
Thursday, February 8
@ 7:30 pm
“No Filter” is the 11th album from
Michael Kaeshammer. This is the sound of an artist following his muse
completely unhindered by thoughts of commercial imperatives or genre
constraints. The prolific Vancouver Island-based
singer/songwriter/pianist/producer has earned a loyal international following
as a triple threat. He’s a piano virtuoso with a technical mastery of many
different styles, an eloquent singer/songwriter, and a charming and engaging
performer. On “No Filter”, Michael mixes his well-crafted and melodic
original songs with a couple of evocative piano instrumentals, and the result
is a delightfully varied collection.
Kaeshammer has won West Coast Music Awards as Musician of
the Year and Entertainer of the Year, while seven JUNO Award nominations have
netted him two wins. With his recording career now spanning two full decades,
Michael Kaeshammer has emerged as a truly original artist at the very top of
his game and one in love with the creative process.

Friday, February 10 @
8:30 pm; $25
"Understanding the order of time is important to
anyone hoping to manifest a dream," says Valerie June. "There is a
time to push, and a time to gently tend the garden."
Since the release of her 2013 breakout “Pushin' Against A Stone”, June has been patiently at work in the garden of song, nurturing seedlings with love and care into the lush bloom that is her stunning new album, “The Order Of Time”. Some songs grew from seeds planted more than a decade ago, others blossomed overnight when she least expected them to, but every track bears the influence of time. Thankfully for us, June was ready when time told her to harvest these songs. In the garden, as in life, there is a time for everything and the moment has finally arrived to enjoy the fruits of all her labor. With “The Order Of Time”, Valerie June has prepared a bountiful feast, and there's a seat at the table for everyone.

Bob recommends two shows in particular. Bob says “The Blue Note”
Tuesdays 3 pm-5 pm, and “The Radio Bob Show” Wednesdays 3 pm-5
pm are both excellent shows – blues, ‘50s & ‘60s, rock & roll,
R&B.

Unsung
and On The Side
With
Carolyn Fe
Tuesdays,
7-9 pm
Re-broadcast Saturday
10 am – noon & Sunday 2-4 pm (all times EST)
It’s all about the
Blues, Jazz and its derivatives from around the globe and just around the
corner. Songs rarely heard, from the very first recordings all the way to indie
artists who consciously push the envelope to the next generation sounds of the
genre; some older releases will be spun - just because the album in old,
doesn't mean it's forgotten, thus the "On The Side" part of the
show's title.
