The Mud Boys
Atomic Rooster, 303
Bank Street
Sunday, June 25, 6-9
pm
Now in their 20th year, the very first gig The Mud Boys
played was in August of 1997. Having worked hard on material that was not the
usual standard repertoire, The Mud Boys quickly made their mark on the Ontario
and Quebec Blues Scene. They have plied their brand of “Bar-Room Deluxe” Blues,
R&B and Swing at many premier Clubs & Festivals including the Ottawa
RBC Bluesfest (7 consecutive years), The Rainbow Bistro, Irene’s Pub, The
Atomic Rooster, Barrymore’s, The Carleton Tavern and Vernfest. The Mud Boys
have also entertained the Canadian Armed Forces and helped out with many local
charity fundraisers.
With 3 full-length CD releases under their belt, the band
is now preparing for another foray into the studio to record all new material
with plans to drop a new CD in late 2017/early 2018. Some of Ottawa’s finest
musicians have been a part of the Mud Boys 20-year history – the current lineup
consists of Dean Dupuis on vocals and harmonica, Sean Burke on bass and vocals,
Lorenzo Cotroneo on drums, Ken Hitchmough on guitar and Guido Guzzo on
keyboards and vocals. These players have covered all styles of music, have
backed up countless National and International recording artists and
collectively have well over 100 years of experience – and it shows in each and
every live performance they do.
The Mud Boys bring blues, swing, R&B and a healthy
dose of groove to each and every show. They keep the audience’s feet on the
dance floor and the bartenders and servers very happy. This favourite Ottawa
band makes a rare appearance at the Atomic Rooster.

Unsung and On The
Side
With Carolyn Fe
Tuesdays, 7-9 pm
Re-broadcast Saturday 10 am – noon & Sunday 2-4 pm
(all times EST)
It’s all about the Blues, Jazz and its derivatives from
around the globe and just around the corner. Songs rarely heard, from the very
first recordings all the way to indie artists who consciously push the envelope
to the next generation sounds of the genre; some older releases will be spun -
just because the album in old, doesn't mean it's forgotten, thus the "On
The Side" part of the show's title.
