Blues on the Rideau presents

Blues Down on the Farm

Featuring Fathead

Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm, 2452 Yorks Corners Rd, Edwards (near Metcalfe)

Thursday, May 20; 6:30 – 10:30 pm; $55 plus tax

Proceeds to the Alzheimer Society Of Ottawa & Renfrew County
Advance reservations required; please call (613) 821-2751

The first show in Choose The Blues Productions’ new Series of Blues Dinner & Show Fundraisers – “Blues Down On The Farm” – takes place this Thursday, May 20 at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm, 2452 Yorks Corners Rd, Edwards, Ontario – only 25 minutes from Parliament Hill.

The journey continues for two time Juno Award winners, Fathead, the sturdiest of Canadian bands.

Fathead, individually and collectively, has garnered numerous awards and accolades; notably two Juno Awards – Blues Recording of the Year for “Blues Weather” (1998) and “Building Full Of Blues” (2008) respectively. And now, buoyed by the return of long time member Teddy Leonard on guitar and the full integration of Bucky Berger on drums and percussion, Fathead offers up a new assortment of material on their latest release, “Where’s The Blues Taking Me”.

The release demonstrates that the Fathead sound is constantly evolving and provides a generous supply of everything within Fathead’s wide musical sphere including straight up Blues, R&B, 50s framed Rock & Roll, Funk, Gospel, and even some cabaret Soul/Blues. All selections are delivered with the warmth and accessibility listeners have come to identify with the band.

You can register your name on a list at the door, choosing at what time you'd like to play. We suggest that you know how to communicate in terms of chords and rhythms, to make the improvisation easier and more convenient for the other musicians.
