have spent years honing their craft and getting to know each other’s playing
styles and nuances. It reflects Burgess, Whiteley & Wong as a cohesive

Myles
Goodwyn is the singer, guitarist, writer, producer and leader of the
band April Wine who’s drive shaped and directed the group from its
earliest beginnings in 1969.
His
passion for the blues began in the ‘60s when he started listening to American
blues artists like BB King, Howling Wolf, Muddy
Waters along with Taj Mahal and many others. All the blues
songs Goodwyn wrote were not going to appear on an April
Wine album so he kept saving them for the blues album he knew he was going
to make, but only got recently got around to recording them. “Myles
Goodwyn And Friends Of The Blues” is the result of these sessions.
The
Myles Goodwyn Band is a six-piece band from the east coast of Canada.
Based out of Nova Scotia, the band consists, along with Myles
Goodwyn (vocals, guitar), Dave Champagne (keys, background
vocals), Warren Robert (guitar & vocals), Mike
Carrol (drums and percussion), Chris Mitchell (bass)

the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, when she earned the runner-up

countries. The success of that win has taken Shakura to almost 30 countries in

S’Aida has been consistently thrilling audiences with her powerful pipes for
years, most recently as a guest host on CBC Radio 2’s Weekend Morning and
Tonic. As a veteran of the international music scene, she’s performed both as a

LaVette and Keb Mo’, as well as an award-winning solo artist.

a 6-year hiatus, Shakura is back in the studio; this time with co-producers

Doc: This year's "CanAfrica Blues" theme features my good friend
Albert Frost. How cool is that? I met this West Cape, South Africa based artist
during my Zulu Skies Tour in 2016. Since then, we've had a ball performing at
some of Africa's best theatres and festivals. This is a guy who counts Lonnie
Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, and Ali Farka Toure (who he actually played with) among
his top musical influences. He does rock, folk, jazz, traditional west African,
and blues. He's a real blues guy. But he's not terribly concerned about genre.
Or confined by it. Music is a language that comes of stories, and in Frost's
Africa there is no shortage of stories. South Africa has long been a unique
musical cauldron, and Albert's art reflects this. This year, he's my guest on
my Blues Highway across North America. CanAfrica Blues. I'm thrilled to have
him along.
Ride
shotgun on an epic, blues road tour as Doc MacLean and Albert Frost unite in a
four-wheel, continental drift. Mixing Delta with west Africa, Son House with
Ali Farka Toura, electric with acoustic, new stories with old... This

True-blue Ottawans already know: the Dueling Pianos are Tyler Kealey and Dave Kalil on two sets of ivory keys, with guitarist Todd Huckabone and the audience acting as referee. Each unique show features an endless series of classic hits spanning decades of music. Playing a blend of requests from the audience, blistering guitar and piano solos, three-part harmonies, and random impromptu comedic moments, their show has won over the crowds for which they perform time after time. The group gained a legion of loyal fans as a regular Saturday act at Sens House in the Byward Market.
Dave has been entertaining audiences across Canada since 1976 as a solo piano player and singer but has had the most fun this past decade playing with – or against – singer-songwriter and fellow pianist Tyler. The two claim influences from musicians like Supertramp and the Eagles, from Billy Joel to the Beatles. In the intimate setting and beautiful acoustics of Centrepointe’s Studio theatre, the Dueling Pianos’ effortless skill and energy will delight newcomers and long-time fans alike!

Singer, Song Writer Jack de Keyzer plays the blues world wide, from Alert,
Arctic Circle to Puerto Escondido, Mexico; from Athens, Greece to Hornby
Island, BC and many points between. One of Canada’s most awarded and in-demand
live performers and session guitarists, Jack has released 10 CD’s and 1
DVD. He has also played on hundreds of recordings and live sessions with
artists ranging from Etta James to Ronnie Hawkins and Bo Diddley to Blue Rodeo.
He is an exciting live performer, soulful vocalist and world class song writer
and performs an average of 120 shows per year. De Keyzer has brought audiences
to their feet at many major Jazz and Blues Festivals including the Montreal
Jazz Fest, Blues Sur Seine (France) The Ottawa Blues Festival and Puerto Blues,
(Mexico). A much-celebrated musician, de Keyzer has been nominated for the Juno
(Blues Album of the Year) 5 times and won the Juno twice, in 2003 and 2010. He
has won 7 Maple Blues Awards (Canada’s national blues awards), first place in
the International Songwriting Competition and won CBC’s Great Canadian Blues

over 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been the quintessential American
band. The group's distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by a diversity of
musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such
barnburners as "Tuff Enuff" and "Wrap It Up." Co-founder
Kim Wilson, the sole original member, still spearheads the group as it evolves
into its newest incarnation.
"We started as a straight blues band," vocalist and harmonica player Wilson says. "We now incorporate a mixture of a lot of different styles. We're an American music band and we're much higher energy than we were before."

award-winning guitarist-singer-songwriter, considered one of Canada's most
electrifying and versatile guitarists, Cécile plays an average of 150 shows per
year. She is quickly earning a stellar reputation and a place alongside
Canada’s current roster of great guitarists. Powerful and raw with an
exceptional stage presence, she is a force of nature whose lyrics and sound
make for an enthralling and intimate experience.
