VINYL release party for “High Temperature”
Rainbow Bistro, 76 Murray Street

Fresh from 10-day tours in western Canada (where Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Chad Smith, joined the band as a guest), and Norway (where they played two prisons!), the band is back home with some hot new material and plenty of tunes from their new release!

“High Temperature” has won the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis for “Best Self-Produced CD”, hit the Billboard Top 10, held the #2 spot on roots radio stations across Canada for 11 weeks, and has been featured on Dan Aykroyd's internationally syndicated "Blues Mobile" radio show.

"JW-Jones is a breath of fresh air in this era of so much musical-fluff. His evolution as a musician and vocalist shine through on this record like never before. Real songs, real playing by real people, and JW is the real deal." - Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones)

The Hornettes
Rainbow Bistro, 76 Murray Street
Saturday, June 24 @ 9:30 pm

Groove into the Summer with The Hornettes - this 7-headed funky beast of a band will make your feet move to the sweet beat all night long!

The Hornettes are an Ottawa-based soul band that has been entertaining crowds in the National Capital Region and beyond since 2010.
The seven-piece, female fronted band plays a variety of upbeat classic soul songs from artists like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5, and many, many more, as well as their own take on more modern material.
Led by Anna and Irina, backed by the driving rhythm of guitar, drums and bass, and topped off with the hottest horn section in town, the Hornettes always get the party started!
The Mud Boys
Atomic Rooster, 303 Bank Street
Sunday, June 25, 6-9 pm

Now in their 20th year, the very first gig The Mud Boys played was in August of 1997. Having worked hard on material that was not the usual standard repertoire, The Mud Boys quickly made their mark on the Ontario and Quebec Blues Scene. They have plied their brand of “Bar-Room Deluxe” Blues, R&B and Swing at many premier Clubs & Festivals including the Ottawa RBC Bluesfest (7 consecutive years), The Rainbow Bistro, Irene’s Pub, The Atomic Rooster, Barrymore’s, The Carleton Tavern and Vernfest. The Mud Boys have also entertained the Canadian Armed Forces and helped out with many local charity fundraisers.

With 3 full-length CD releases under their belt, the band is now preparing for another foray into the studio to record all new material with plans to drop a new CD in late 2017/early 2018. Some of Ottawa’s finest musicians have been a part of the Mud Boys 20-year history – the current lineup consists of Dean Dupuis on vocals and harmonica, Sean Burke on bass and vocals, Lorenzo Cotroneo on drums, Ken Hitchmough on guitar and Guido Guzzo on keyboards and vocals. These players have covered all styles of music, have backed up countless National and International recording artists and collectively have well over 100 years of experience – and it shows in each and every live performance they do.

The Mud Boys bring blues, swing, R&B and a healthy dose of groove to each and every show. They keep the audience’s feet on the dance floor and the bartenders and servers very happy. This favourite Ottawa band makes a rare appearance at the Atomic Rooster.
