Ottawa Little Theatre, 400 King Edward Avenue
Friday, August 14 @ 8 pm; Tickets $35 in advance, $40 at the door; Students $25

If this theatre is a rockin’, it’s because Raoul Bhaneja has returned to the stage. Raoul, an OLT alumnus, will headline the 2015 Signature Fundraiser on Aug. 14 at 8 pm, in concert with blues heavyweights Big Dave McLean of Winnipeg, and Super Chikan of Mississippi. Raoul currently fronts the Maple Blues award winning band Raoul and the Big Time, and is also an accomplished Toronto-based actor.

When Raoul plays OLT on August 14, he’ll have a pair of legends in tow. Super Chikan and Big Dave McLean will join him on stage in an ensemble Raoul put together to perform at the 2015 Pan-Am Games in Toronto. The Trio will make the trek to Ottawa especially for this performance following its debut on August 12 in Nathan Phillips Square. As an added treat for local blues fans, Raoul has invited Ottawa blues man Tony D to join the trio for a few tunes.

BLUES ON THE RIDEAU
2015/16 LINE-UP

Blues On The Rideau – the Dinner and Show Fundraiser Series that has been running at The Cove Country Inn in Westport, Ontario for the past 10 years and is now recognized as one of the premier Blues Series in Canada – is pleased to announce its 2015/16 Line-Up. The shows start in September and run once a month through to May (December excluded). It’s another all star cast of some of Canada’s best Blues bands with a mix of popular returnees and a couple of new bands that have never played BOTR before. As in previous years every show is a fundraiser for a different local charity. To date the Series has raised over $55,000. The goal for this season is another $5K.

All BOTR shows run from 7 to 11 pm and include a delicious full course buffet dinner served by the Cove’s friendly staff. The venue is small, intimate and relaxed. After dinner you get to see and dance to world class Blues bands up close and personal – the way Blues is best enjoyed – all for a very reasonable price – $65 (plus tax). There are door prize giveaways at every show and 2 Grand Prizes drawn at the end of the season.  ADVANCE RESERVATIONS are required and it is wise to book well in advance, especially if you want to stay overnight. Rooms at The Cove and nearby B&Bs and motels frequently sell out for Blues nights. Call 613-273-3636

Note that there has been a small increase in price this year – $5 - the first in 5 years – to help cover cost increases over that time. And there is a new Reservation Policy in place this year – a credit card number is required with the reservation (although the card is not charged until the night of the show). Cancellations or changes in the reservation can be made up to a week prior to the event without penalty. After that time those than don’t show – or come with fewer than reserved for – will be charged for those seats – although a credit will be applied for a future show that season (space available) if there is a legitimate reason. The new policy has been implemented due to the number of "no-shows" over the past several years which, in many cases, has prevented others who would like to see that show from attending.
