The final shows of the 2014/15 10th season featured two nights with the David Rotundo Band. $500 was raised each night for Westport In Bloom and the Rideau District Museum bringing the total raised this season for Westport charities to over $4,500 - over $55K since the Series began.

Self-taught singer, songwriter and guitarist Jimmy Ray Todd plays Blues/Rock; he has played music most of his life, started writing songs in 2001, began playing in online chat rooms and has performed thousands of full live shows at many venues operating on Second Life www.secondlife.com. “These performances are for multinational crowds from around the world who really dig a diverse mixture of rock, blues, soul and mainstream music.”
With Chris Heilig on drums, Lee Donovan on bass and Andrew Gladish on keyboard.
The first recording by Jimmy Ray Todd, recorded at Jason Fryer’s Tone King Records, was released in August 2014.

Soulstack was formed in 2011 by frontman Jonathan Knight (Wickens-Knight) and keyboardist Mark Wessenger. The band consists of drummer Tom Bona, and bassists Darryl ‘Harpo’ Peterson and Josh Knight baritone Guitarist Chris Latta.

Their 2012 Debut release “Big Red” garnered outstanding critical reviews. The band received 2014 Maple Blues Award nominations for Electric Act of the Year and Drummer of the Year and was nominated for an Independent Music Award (IMA) for 2013. “Five Finger Discount” is Soulstack’s sophomore album, combining poignant lyricism and sweet vocal harmony with the rhythm and grit of traditional blues. The retreat will consist of two nights’ accommodation (billeted, camping, bunk bed available, first come first serve), 3 days at our organic farm including 5 fresh gourmet meals and snacks. The 2 days will include 12 hours of workshops, of which several sessions will be audio recorded and sent along at your request. Saturday night we will have an open jam on stage and/or around the bonfire.

Workshops will include 3 chord song structure, comping vibrato and tone, using transcribe software to break down songs, demystify licks and learn your favourite runs, playing effectively and simply, 1st 2nd and 3rd position playing, tunings, rhythm playing, playing melodically, overblows, sitting in with a band, techniques, do's and dont's, harmonica maintenance (with Andrew Zajac) and group sessions with all the instructors.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn and play with three world class harmonica players/teachers, enjoy amazing food and have a true blues experience under the willows by the Grand River.
