He is a master storyteller with a sharp sense of humour and his affinity for the rawness and spontaneity of the blues is second to none, as anyone who has had the privilege of being in his audiences will tell you. An accomplished and versatile musician, Isaak plays a wide variety of music styles in his one-man shows, including ragtime, Delta blues, Piedmont, gospel and swing.
Isaak is best known as the front man and main songwriter /guitar player with the popular Canadian jump band, The Twisters, based out of Vancouver. In 2010 Brandon was nominated for Song Writer Of The Year at The Maple Blues Awards, was one of 13 artists selected to write songs about their home town for the CBC Great Canadian Song Quest 2011.
Over the years Brandon has had a chance to perform with some of his favourite musicians and main influences, such as Corey Harris, Guy Davis, Taj Mahal, Colin Linden, Jim Byrnes, Jeff Healey, Joe Louis Walker, Kenny Wayne, The Sojourners and more.
Isaak has just released his first solo album called “Bluesman’s Plea”, a versatile and diverse roots album featuring 14 originals based on true stories of life, love and death; where only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.
Brandon Isaak will be performing in Ottawa February 2 through February 5

SAB
Tucson’s, 2440 Bank Street
Friday, February 3
Sab has made a living and lived Rock & Roll since the tender age of thirteen. He's played all over the world as well as almost every 'watering hole' in the North. Sab's persona can hardly go unnoticed with his flare for comedy, top hat, long hair, snakeskin boots and enormous heart. His endeavours to expand the Northern music scene and develop young talent, have won him the friendship and loyalty of people in the industry.
Sab, "The King of the North" as Ronnie Hawkins likes to call him, has become a well-known celebrity in Northern Ontario. Whether you hear him on the radio or see a live show, that gruff laugh, cherry-whiskey stained voice and out-there personality will always stick with you.
Sab writes, co-writes, produces, promotes, endorses, consults, books talent, and plays a kick-ass live show! With Sab on the scene, it's all Rock & Roll! It's not an act. To quote the man himself, "Rock & Roll, that's who I am, through the good, the bad, and the not-so-bad. I never did anything else but play music."

CBC RADIO CONCERTS ON DEMAND
*******************************************************
Canada Live podcast, released on Fridays
Monday, January 30
concert 1: John Prine, recorded as part of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival
Elvis Costello calls him a living legend; Bob Dylan calls him one of his favourite songwriters. "His is just extra-ordinarily eloquent music," says Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. John Prine is an artist who can paint the most vivid picture with a few simple words. He seems to literally get under the skin of the characters in his songs, allowing the listener to experience life through someone else's eyes, regardless of their circumstance.
Thursday, February 2
concert 1: Bachman Turner, recorded at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg
This concert was a classic arena rock show. The Winnipeg crowd was more than ready to roll on down the highway for a set that combined classic BTO hits, with new songs cut from the same cloth. Randy Bachman is one of the founding fathers of world class rock & roll in Canada. His work with The Guess Who helped establish the Canadian music scene at a time when the music industry was dominated by the United States and Britain. In 1971, Bachman was looking for a new singer for his band Brave Belt and former Winnipegger Neil Young suggested he call Fred (CF) Turner. It was this group that eventually became BTO or Bachman Turner Overdrive. In 1977, Bachman left after a string of monumental hits including "Takin' Care of Business" and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." Fast forward many years to when Bachman was working on a new solo album in 2009. He invited the recently retired Turner to add some vocals. Bachman was so inspired with the results he put aside his solo project and invited Turner to pool his new songs with his. The result? Bachman Turner! When they revealed the music of the new band for the first time, it was almost as if BTO had taken a six month holiday in 1977 and then gone back into the studio. This hometown concert was recorded at the MTS Centre in front of an adoring and exuberant crowd. The song "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" features a guest appearance by a young guitarist named Kyle who won a local radio contest to appear with Bachman & Turner and nailed the solo.
